EMPOWER PEOPLE WITH DIVERSE ABILITIES

Empower=participate, contribute, enrich, be part,...

It is estimated that in the world there are more than one billion people living with functional diversity. We must empower them to participate in the community with the appropriate support.

The 2006 UN Convention defines how to guarantee the rights of people with functional diversity and provides for non-discrimination measures, based on these general principles:

  • Respect for the inherent dignity, individual autonomy, including the freedom to make one's own decisions, and the independence of people.

  • Non-discrimination.

  • Full and effective participation and inclusion in society.

  • Respect for the difference and acceptance of people with disabilities as part of diversity and the human condition.

  • Equal opportunities.

  • Accessibility.

  • Equality between men and women.

  • Respect for the evolution of the faculties of children with disabilities and their right to preserve their identity.
